I'm pretty sure Amoeba is spelled with an 'o' here in America too.

what about poppy plants and coca plants?
And I'd like to introduce some diseases, plagues, virii, colds, flus, germs and such into the game. Maybe certain factors such as bodies left in the open, rotting food, or other conditions could create a certain amount of "germs" or whatever, depending on the type of sickness, and the higher the level, the higher chance each person in the area has of contracting the disease, and then an infected person would increase the chances of others nearby of getting it too.
Oooh, and some of these diseases should be island specific so that people can gradually develop higher tolerances and immunities to certain diseases, but then when someone from another land comes, they'd have no immunity.

Would add a whole new aspect to the game, but I don't think it should be considered until the cures for these diseases are put into the game. They may have to be discovered, but they should be there to be discovered. And, the ability to develop vaccines......maybe mixing mushrooms with grapes to combat a plague.

maybe in real life yes, but in Cantr both are healing foods, and therefore it would make since.... a general cure for colds would be mashing mushrooms and grapes together and eating.

do a thing where the mortar and pestel can be used to make a "cure all powder" that requires 100g of mushrooms and 100g grapes to cure 30 health points. or more or less... thats your jobs, in the resources dept to figure out how much. :)

Medicines will be around before illnesses, but that doesn't necessarily mean that all illnesses will have cures.

Ok, no one brough up fat. Fat is something like the most important food resource in pribitive cultures. It contains much more energy than meat. You could make pemmican with it.

Also, fat can be rendered down for oil (not like the oil we have already!) that could be used to make fried foods. And if a use for light is ever invented tallow candles would be an option.

Oh yeah? Well, there must be a mistake in my dictionary, in that list that says differences between American English and British English. And not just in the beginning, but in the actual vocabulary too. Maybe you're just being too English?

I hearby decree that the spelling of the word does not matter anymore. We're not going to have another "It's spelt this way!" "No! This way!" debate. One is far too many as it is.

The spelling does not matter. Drop it, everyone. Please.

I'm glad we're all agreed the right way is the British way then :P

*Skims back over the last posts*

faetus? try foetus.... faetus as far as I know isn't a word at all.

and the all knowing Word 2004 spell checker agrees with me that hematite is the British English version of whatever the american way of spelling it is.

Anyway, can I request the resources department pester the programming department to implement item degredation ;)
