It annoys me when Cantr conspires to force all of my characters onto one island. I mean really, this is a bit insane. Some of them will just be finding themselves struck with the urge to sail I suppose, or become even more stuck at home.

It makes it a bit rough. I have 6 charries on Treefeather. Was more but I've moved some. Especially when they are so close.
Two characters I have even though they've never met have considerable knowledge of each other because they are only a few towns a part and the two towns are friendly with people moving between them often. I have to be cautious to keep the information separate between the two.
Spawning in itself is weird. Once I spawned a character. Decided I didnt want to play in the town. So he left. Maybe one travel tick if that. I think it was about 15 real life minutes. I started another character and spawned in the exact same town.
Was playing in a town for a considerable time I think 8 or 9 game years. Finally tired of sleepy leader so had the character leave. Two days later I killed another character off and bam spawn a new one in the same town I had just left with the original. A bit frustrating.
I know I'm not the only one this happened to. I saw a newspawn arrive one time and the first thing he said was "Oh no not this place again" lol I know that was a CRB on his part but I thought it was funny.
Lets see this time around playing I have 15 active charries and I have killed 2 off so 17 charries and unless things have changed there are two English speaking islands I havent had a charrie spawn on. Burgeo and Nonironwok? are english speaking right. Seems I had charries on them a few years ago when I played.
On a similar note. Has anyone noticed how often a character dies then within a few minutes someone spawns? Surprised its not commented on in game more about the cycle of life or something as it seems to happen very often.
Sorry I got away from your original point Kinny.

Everything you said is pretty much how I feel, haha. I have... 7 characters (out of 14) on Treefeather. It's insane. A few have met in passing, for whatever reason, but I try my darnedest to keep them apart. I broke down and spawned another the other day - spawned on the island.
I'm really hoping that we get some kind of parameters we can adjust for spawning? I think I've seen it discussed on the forums before! I'd love to have characters on Aki, or Burgeo, or Raj.

You guys are all crazy, Treefeather is best island.
And while I do see how it could get a little problematic having so many characters so close together, I don't see why you couldn't have them in the same area or even occasionally the same town, as long as you're careful with them. Like, Character A spawns in one town and is offered a job, while Character B has been making trading stops all along the coast for years, including Character A's town...it would seem more out of character to suddenly skip that town for no reason than to just go their like always and do the usual business. Or sometimes you're in a situation where a friend really wants you to go with them to visit a town you have another character in...you can only make up so many excuses not to before it just gets weird.

Aki used to be so awesome back in the day.
Billions of dangerous animals, no string for bows (I remember the town executed a guy one time for falling asleep and letting a composite bow crumble away, back in the days before sinew string), and everyone had such a great community spirit and sense of cooperation working together just to survive the animals. Also the whole thing about the sacred pelicans or whatever was pretty neat.
Aki Jalahido Sover...see I haven't had a character there in forever and I even still remember how to say it. (I think.)

Aki was amazing back in Vel'Nora's heyday. After the king died and his female captain took over. I'm kicking myself that I can't remember her name right now but she was a great leader. The town had a unique culture that was force-fed to newspawns and neighbors until they assimilated or were killed for nonconforming.

In concept it's easy to have characters on the same island. But then you get to hearing things and knowing things, and it just makes life more difficult.
And I liked Aki! Such a different atmosphere than Treefeather or Cantr.

The one I'm thinking of was Agar's character, her name started with an 'R' I know but I can't remember it off the top of my head. Anyway, yeah, she was a great leader.
Agar hasn't been around the forum in years though, I remember he was REALLY pissed about the changes to animals basically removing all the challenge from Aki. He may have even quit over it, I don't know...haven't seen him in a long time though.

Quick forum search reveals: Kosha Winters. She was incredible.

Person A spawns, immediately falls madly and deeply in love with Random Bystander #4, and then proceeds to try to commit suicide when Random Bystander #4 doesn't return those sudden (but apparently sincere and meaningful?) feelings.
Edit: I guess what bothers me isn't that the character was acting in a hilariously immature fashion, but that the player was, too. They literally stopped responding to all questions or comments directed their way, which would suggest that the player is OOCly upset... which just boggles my mind.

I agree that Treefeather is the best island, although Fu is kinda interesting too once you get a good shield (before you get a good shield, it's like being inside a meat grinder). Lots of neat resources on Fu, and once you get a bike, you can travel much faster. Aki is pretty boring and if you're not strong and a good hunter, you're bound to be a punching bag for all the animals. Not to mention having no hemp or cotton (or apparently even wool!). People might have iron but they still dress up like barbarians (or you could also pull off the biker look).
