How is someone in Cantr supposed to know about a secret land they could never enter without outside knowledge?

That's true, although I guess I could have worded it better. I'd intended to include whether a character could stumble upon it or not, although the invisible wall thing could work. Besides it being a CRB, there'd be no way to know who would actively seek it out, and who would find it merely by accident.

Anyway, assuming you could make it work, I think it would be interesting if there were buildings already in the area, perhaps with unique descriptions. Perhaps pyramids and old tombs and stuff, implying there was another ancient civilization there before the Cantrians.
Just an idea though, I thought it would make the area a bit more appealing and interesting ._.

Well this problem can be solved by having no roads leading to it.
As Seko mentioned "Nuking" some, they can -as I said - try in vain.
At that point seeming like like crazy time-wasters on a wild goose hunt...

Yeah, that would solve it. It would make all the time and effort put into improving roads go to a bit of a waste, though

I say there be an RP world and there is ultra advanced technology and the residents can use spaceships to get to normal world and they can torment the meaningless noob population of the 'lower-planet'. :D

I think that would be going a bit far, I just think providing a backstory for the special veteran area would make the place much more intriguing. I'm a big fan of backstories.

Cantr II is a social simulator. What is not working is due a problem in the society.
Cantr is like Vegas - what happens in the game should be in the game.

I had a brilliant idea on the way back from Target tonight...

Instead of veteran players, it's a staff-only area. Staff get nothing for their work (sometimes worse than nothing when the players get mad), and I think this would be a great perk. And, if there was a way to make it so that you had to be on staff to play your character, it would give some continual motivation to put in time, something sorely lacking (see the part about getting nothing). Might get more volunteers for staff too.

I know it would motivate me to volunteer xD

However... I think a staff-only area would be much less populated than a veteran area, I'm sure there are much more veterans than there are staff, and it would be way to easy to figure out which character is who, which I think can remove from the effect. While I agree staff should have some kind of return, I'm not sure that area would be as fun as it sounds.

Regardless of the one you pick, will there be different special communities for each language group? That could be problematic if you aren't building more land.

I'm definitely against this. It goes against what Cantr's about. We'll make our own backstory soon enough. I wouldn't mind using towns abandoned by other past characters, however, but I don't think this applies to any super isolated place, obviously.
You can ignore this:
What if the veteran/staff only area was the latin language group? Let's all speak Latin (or more like, let's have a Latin interface and speak English)! Most of our languages are based off of it, anyway.

I like the staff idea, though I might be biased. However, it'll be staff that will be setting all this up ( :P ), and like Doug R. said, it would motivate others to become staff. Veteran would allow more people though, and what would happen if someone was no longer part of staff? Or joined staff just to be part of it? So I like the idea, but I vote veteran.

Edit: Wow, I argue with myself.

Hey, we could sell exclusive membership for credits.

Just an idea, I'm not sure what to think about the whole matter yet.
