Remeber we were given our freedom to avoid another bloody battle like the American colonies had to face. Let's put it this way. Had Canada been settled first it would have been us fighting for freedom and the American colonies would have recieved when requested.
As a Canadian I'd like to share some information with all my American Cantr Players. I along with many other Canadians thought we should have backed the US in the war in Iraq. I would have like to know a little more info on why we went from fighting Bin Laddin to Saddam so quick, but now the US is also starting to wonder the same so I'll leave that alone. But most of Canada agreed that a potential threat was there and we needed to do something before more attacks happend. I'm sorry for those in Spain and hope that the Canadian Gov'mt does more to help.
Although a proud Canadian, I have great respect for Americans because we are the same. You make fun of those from the south (hillbilly) and we make fun of the Newfies (people who live in New Foundland). Both Canada and the USA has raceism, but towards different Races. We both have crime and Gov'mt corruption, We all fight for a better way of life. I think it is time for both Gov'mts to realize that they have better friends in thier North/south Neihbors than any where else.
PS here is a newfie joke for you to lighten up your day
I was in my kitchen one day and looked out my window and seen my Newfie neihbors house on fire. I ran out side to see him just laughing. I said "hey Newf, aint ya gonna call the fire department" He said "why I got enough lumber in my attic to build me another one"

well, can't just let one slide.
prepare yourself for combat!
*apologies in advanced for off-topicness*
alright, first off, america didn't join any of those wars to help the french, and in vietnam US help did jack sh*t, so the french are hardly deep in owed gratitude. second, they have every right to decide what ever political course they feel like. just because bush thinks that it's about time again to cover up his domestic problems with a nice little war doesn't mean the US is in the right or that other countries are obligated to help with something so stupid. it's about time a country stands up for itself and for what's right. so props to france.
then we get to the war. is saddam a bad guy? of course. is he a threat to the US? hardly. iraq had no weapons of mass destruction and there wasn't clear eveidence of them existing. there are many other countries with much clearer evidence of weapons such as north korea. even if saddam did have the weapons, he would never be so stupid as to use them in a direct attack against the US. a guy doesn't stay dictator for very long without a bit of sense. basically the only way saddam could have ever harmed the US was through funding terrorism. now there are many countries that are far more involved with terrorists. saudi arabia comes to mind, but we need their oil too much to do anything.
now people will argue that the war was justified because saddam hussien was a terrible oppressive dictator, but there are worse and some of those were put into power by the US, so don't give me all this righteous bullcrap.
so why did we fight this war then? bush's reputation. things aren't going well domestically so we'd better divert attention. saddam has a reputation for being a bad guy and we can play up the threat of weapons. most important, this is a war we can win easily so it looks nice on the prsidential resume. then there's oil, haliburton, etc, but that's questionable so i'm not even going to get into that.

Sure, it made the French/German border near impenetrable, but it didn't cover the Belgian border, which is exactly the route Germany took to get to France in the first World War. And they did it again in the second one. Duh. *smites france for not thinking*
And yeah, as the saying goes, "It's cheaper to buy in bulk, so why should it be any different with killing?"
..Okay, to be honest I just made it up.
