Look, guys. Just pass all your keys to me. I promise I will... not be bothered to do anything useful and just go to sleep.

Just dump them all on the ground and let the issue resolve itself. Not your town, not your problem.

People who solo rp. I've occasionally done it myself, but if no one reacts to it then maybe it's a sign that it's time to cut it short. One message during a quiet time is fine, but when you post multiple messages in a row with no one else posting in between, it might be annoying someone who's waiting for something significant to happen.

Sometimes those monologues are a bit of a relief, though. After days of nothing happening, those messages might be what rekindles the roleplay.

It's good to rp in a way that gives opportunities for other people to jump in.

Never had a problem with emotes like that. Just a way to show others you're still checking your character even when there's nothing going on.

This. A little emote like that on occasion, especially during quiet times, can prod conversation. Often if I post something similar there's suddenly a lot of posts, like someone was just waiting for the ice to be broken or didn't know there were other players online in that location.
And I don't think that's the sort of thing Seko was referring to. Sounded more like walls of text and multiple posts that were bothering her.

I don't mind people solo roleplaying a bit - I'd encourage it, in fact. That sort of play often encourages other people to join in (as others have said) and helps build your character to be unique from all your other characters, etc. It's a great character building device - to just sit around and explore how your character acts and reacts even without people directing confronting them, especially if other characters in the area don't often wake up. People who solo roleplay here and there are usually trying to make the gameworld, on a whole, more active. That's never not a bad thing, especially considering over the years Cantr has gone from a population of players of around 1,800 to around 800. More active characters (or, I suppose, players who care more about actively engaging others) will only ever help new player retention.
What drives me crazy are the people who complain about things like that, and the characters who complain loudly about how their town is suddenly "too noisy" when people show up, while also complaining about "how empty" it is becoming normally. You can't have it both ways. You either have "noise" and roleplay and interaction, or you have a dead town full of sleepers who drive off every useful new player in the area because of how restrictive and (frankly) godawful boring it is, until all those sleepers also get bored and die of heart attacks, clutching all their hard-won loot fiercely to their inactive, pointless chests.
All roleplay gives opportunities for other people to jump in. People don't have to *Newspawn Joe smiles at Inactive Sleeper and runs up to hug her.* in order to include folk. Folk just have to be proactive. I absolutely cannot stand people who think roleplay is annoying, because it forces them to look at the game only to realize Unimportant Character #1 is the person doing stuff, not Hot Sexy Torture Pirate #4. That, IMO, feels really elitist to me. Nobody, from an OOC standpoint, is less important or has a less valid style of play than anyone else.

I do understand Seko's point, though. There's a difference between emoting your character's actions to liven up a slow day or get their personality across, and sitting there posting paragraph after paragraph for everyone else to read and not have any input in. One invites interaction, the other shuts people out just as firmly as those pages and pages of whispers we're always complaining about.
Sometimes I even catch myself writing a whole lot more than I should and have to try to rein it in, but that's mostly when there's been a lot going on that I have to respond to all at once.

Now I would like to change the topic and complain about people who overuse and abuse OOC. I would absolutely go so far as to say this makes them less important and with a less valid style of play so sorry Wolfsong!

Abusing OOC (by which I'm assuming you mean using OOC knowledge to influence IC actions) is never a valid style of play. It's cheating, plain and simple.
