When you find yourself getting irrationally nervous and upset when having to RP around certain players/characters...
Makes the game substantially less fun

Do I tell him he's out naked in town square, or do I hush?

Why do newspawns have no interest in the past? Here you are, you're brand new. You don't know anything, and you've just appeared out of no where, so no one has any reason to talk to you beyond giving you clothing, food, and work. Ask about the past! It's the best way to get conversation going and get yourself invested in the community. No one's going to spontaneously start telling you that stuff!

I prefer learning about the past over just asking about the past.

But how do you learn if you don't ask? Seems to be a catch-22 unless you live in a town with an extensive library.

Waiting for a certain thing to happen.
Get excited when character lights up.
Enter character, and see something that is identical to something another of yours recently said.
A couple seconds later, realize that it is your character.
Become mad at yourself for not only not realizing they happened to cross, but more so for getting your own hopes up because you thought that the action was the event you were waiting for to begin with.

By learning I mean that it also takes places over a longer period of time. So it's less like a Wikipedia thing and more like your character slowly uncovering the backstory of this place. The other characters have to trust you first too of course.Doug R. wrote:But how do you learn if you don't ask? Seems to be a catch-22 unless you live in a town with an extensive library.
That feels way more natural to me but we've all got our preferences.

So, whenever I remember to clear the feed daily, I realize that there's actually not as much that goes on on the radio as there seems to be when it's mixed in with previous days' stuff and other events.

I wonder how many tries the most difficult lock took.
There was one on k-isle that took mw 8 tries.
