Doesn't that defeat the purpose? If you would have to start the project then you could see who's active(ly being inactive) instead of for example abbandoning your character when it gets locked up.

I'm not sure if I'm confused or just don't understand. But I don't want a project to tell what position my character is in. They often sit on the floor or on a piece of furniture to do their work (sewing, repairs, etc.). An idle project sounds like they wouldn't be able to work on anything else.

It won't be a project. You will be able to set the description independent of what your character is doing.
