Well I like it.
Mostly becuase it will make object creation that much more individual, like in real life, and it will help with the clutter inside the build menu (hopefully)

So, do you people think that would be ok, if we would be teoriticaly able to create a nonsense items? For exemple: combine a gladius blade with a bone spear head?
Of course everyone with some brain will not do this, but I'm sure that there will be much more combinations which will not sound so unlogical - which doesn't mean that they are correct. So if we make an iron axe with a short handle we won't have as good performace as we would have with a long handle. Just brainstorming...

The problem with modularity is that it increases the demand on the players. Right now, to make a hammer you only add the materials and then sit on the project. If you split that into parts, then you have to make the head, wait, make the shaft, wait, then make the hammer. Either each part is made in half a day, which means you have to sleep in shifts, or the effective amount of time it takes to make damn near everything in the game at least doubles. I dislike either result.
In the long run this serves little purpose other than to rearrange the build menu. I know people are looking for more creative ways to make the deterioration system even worse than it already is, but I don't think you will find only having the head fall off the hammer any more advantageous than having the whole thing crumble.
