*comes out the door, confused at the commotion, parts the crowd, and steps inside Mikki's house, then steps away with a deep frown on his face. Without a word, he leans on her house, scratching his head*

"Okud's got the right idea. If we're not having any kind of investigation yet then I think I'm going to go home and cover every inch of the place with boards. Let me know if anybody admits to being a werewolf or anything." *steps out the door and jogs off down the street towards the hardware store*

Wooden boards? Ya think them werewolves are gonna be stopped by wooden boards...?

What's got into this place huh!? Mikki's dead... dead... and mangled... and *winces*

Look at all of you! Running around, boarding up windows, worrying about mikki's burial - has it not occured to anyone, that someone here must have done this And they'll do it again unless we stop them

*starts to get hysterical*

WE'RE GONNA DIE... DIE I TELL YOU... we have to put an end to it... get rid of the werewolf... Someone's gotta pay... pay with their life for the life they took away from mikki...
Whoever you vote for.

*struggles by pushing a wheelbarrow full of boards* Hey, I suggested we get everybody together and have a formal inquiry, but nobody listened to me. And since we apparently don't have a governor or police officer or anything like that, I guess I'm just going to have to do whatever I can to look after myself."

*shakes head* And yeah, I know we need to find the person responsible, but how are we supposed to do that? We've got like zero evidence right now, unless we notice somebody going around digging up flowerbeds or sniffing people's butts or something. "

*suddenly sounds worried* "But you seriously think the boards aren't strong enough? I have it on good authority that they can keep aliens out, and they're way smarter than some dumb werewolves...but what would you suggest instead? *looks around* Hmm, is anyone here a blacksmith? I'd be willing to pay a ridiculous amount for a padlock and some heavy chains right now..."

"I don't know, perhaps we should ask Rev if they are strong enough to keep them out. I'm sorry Rev, but since we have nobody else to blame and you are the most likely to have contracted the desease. I am going to have to vote to lynch you. Now who's going to help me?"

"Swymir, don't you think it's a little early to be fixating on one person?" *glances at the sky* "At least, I think it's early...what time does the sun set, anyway?"

"Anyway, I suspected Rev at first, too, but after thinking about it just doesn't make sense. I mean, sure, your average werewolf might only be slightly less moronic than my pet Chihuahua, but they'd still probably be smart enough to keep their mouth shut about something as incriminating as another village." *smirks* Now, what that says about Rev's intelligence I can't say, but at least we're starting to have something along the lines of an investigation here. I'll go ahead and send him a message so he can come tell us his side of the story."

*starts to head to the post office, then stops* "Oh, and that reminds me. Neelix, what did you mean by saying you didn't want to see this happen again? Were you at that other village Rev mentioned, too? How many survivors were there?" *rolls eyes* "And no, Swymir, that's not an invitation to start accusing Neelix. But it would be really helpful if somebody other then a werewolf could give us some information on werewolves. All I know I got from watching Van Helsing, and let me tell you that movie was utter crap."

"Okay, I've officially summoned Rev to come and stand trial, which should work fine as long as he doesn't ignore me or notice I'm not actually affiliated with the government in any way, shape or form. Um, do we need a jury or a lawyer or anything, or have we not invented that stuff in our quasi-medieval village yet?"

"Anyhow, off to work on barricading my house until he gets here."

*looks up from the grave, suddenly, her ears having caught some snippet of the conversation*

Wolfs' bane will stop them. I mean.... I'd heard that somewhere. But not wooden boards, or even a strong lock-- you saw the mess they made of Mikki, her broken bones..... they're really strong.

But you're right, of course. I mean, we have that phone call.... we obviously can't wait for the doctors to save us, or come up with a cure. It's up to us to save ourselves.

Lumin, I think we should go with a non-judge/non-jury/non-leadership based method, majority vote. Because if there are two wolves, it would be pretty easy for one of them to get voted or named the judge, and who is going to accuse the judge?

I realize you're probably not a wolf and you almost certainly have the best of intentions, but you go around here, summoning Rev to stand at some kind of trial, like some kind of authority.... How do I know you're not a wolf, seeking to set yourself up with some power so you can keep all of us guessing until it's too late and we're all dead?

Lumin's defense of Revanael seems to make sense... perhaps we should look at this from another perspective... who among us still haven't spoken up? *looks around* Nick and Surly are hardly what I would call inactive townsfolk.

I agree with mortaine, having one leader is not a smart thing to do at the moment, while we are not sure of whom can be trusted.

AoM, would you truly lynch those who sleep? I realise we have little to go on... but lynching the sleeping seems to be asking for trouble.

Hang on a sec AoM, The werewolves are unlikely to be inactive villagers, 'cos they did a fairly swift job with mikki the other night...

I think, that choosing mikki, who has a bit of a past with a couple of people here, someone is trying to throw us off the scent *narrows his eyes as he looks around*> I therefore say, it must have been AoM. For absolutely no reason, except that he looks kinda shifty...

"Mortaine, don't forget that there are people here who seem to just want to drag him out of his house and hang him, also with no authority. I'm not trying to get in a position of leadership or anything like that. Believe me, the last thing I want is responsibility, it's too frickin' stressful."

*shrugs* "It's just that no one else seems to be very organized, and I figure if we're going to be randomly accusing people we need to have at least some semblance of a trial or some other kind of halfway fair procedure. I mean, we're all scared here and understandably a lot of people are freaking out, but that's why we need to work this out in a rational way so we don't dissolve into some angry, paranoid mob and start lynching people for sneezing funny."

"And for the record, I flat out told Rev I didn't have any real authority, but I said it'd probably be in his best interests to get over here and defend himself anyway, because Swymir looked ready to go knocking on his door asking for a neck measurement..."
