The Longboats are big, it can hold some people and a lot of stuff.
And yet it is so easy to make it only requires wood.
I think the speed is good enough, although it is crappy, since if they were faster I guess nobody would make other boats anymore.

I'm completly unaware as to how I can change a boats docking speed. I believe the speed is based off of the boats speed (Ie: Since you get closer to shore as you dock, so, the faster your boat can move - the faster it can dock) - However, I've already doubled the speed of Longboat (Which, sadly, none of you will notice unless you build a NEW Longboat - or someone in Programming updates every single Longboat in the game to the new parameters, which would take a long time, I believe...) so I'm not going to change it again.
In other words, I can't make a boat that can dock fast, because there's no way to specifically define that.

Not really far for my poor chars with longboats
Something different, how come boats can now be made everywhere? Even in places without a sea or lakes. Also boats for sea's seems to be able to be made on lakes and vice versa. Is boat dragging now an option? Or is it just a bug?

There are 3 longboat projects in Seatown Forest with some wood added. I was able to start another just to see if I could, then deleted it. I was not able to start a Landing Stage or Coaster Harbor, though. Got messages about not bordering a lake or sea. I'll bet there are many such projects scattered around the landlocked locations. What would happen if one of these were finished?
If you drive an old Chevy, you're all right by me!

As far as I know all boats can be build at every place.

I once saw a canoe inside a building, but I can't recall where. I'm new to boating, but planning one of my characters around a raft, so just to understand this: if there's no structure built for landings, can you go to the location, whether or not it borders a lake or sea?
Reality was never my strong point.

Your asking if you can dock the boat at a place without a landing stage or something? Yes. Some big boats require a harbour to dock though.
And of course it has to border a lake or sea, that depends on the boat type, since boats require water to float and move
A raft is rather a stupid boat. You can hardly carry anything when you want inside. But since it is a raft that would be something you suspect.
