Marian also would find it bothersome when people would refer to themselves by name in their own emotes.

Agreed, but I think there is some extent to which this can be pushed - though it is a fine line. Something brief and vague is okay in my books - i.e., eternal darkness before spawning, but going into an actual history "I was a farmer in another life!" or "I am God's right hand" is just dumb.
