I honestly don't get why people are so much against this. And well, IMO it's really selfish for people to whisper and whisper and whisper without doing anything out of that, like some emoting, because that just annoys people and doesn't allow anyone to join in on the roleplay. That's why I like this suggestions. Especially because no characters but a few have flaws, so this will stir things up now and then, definitely.

When two people are whispering and a player accidentally speaks out loud instead of whispering to that person, 9 times out 10 the people who overheard it do not react to having overheard it.
Why would that make any difference now?
People are still going to not react to what they overheard so it's a rather useless feature to have.
I do not think it will motivate people to find a more private place to talk, it's not worth the trouble. I mean, do you really think that a couple who is having sex is going to care if one person happens to overhear? If they really cared about privacy, they'd go inside to begin with.
I've seen enough slip-ups with whisper sex that have gone completely ignored to agree with this.
Wiro - even when people do emote aloud while they're whispering, people generally don't respond. I don't understand why all characters should be expected to do everything publicly. I occasionally appreciate when people do, like those public fights Thomas/Nolan and Katrina used to have in Lake Village. I found them entertaining, but a lot of people were annoyed. People just seem to hate it when people are talking, whether it's whispered or aloud, if it doesn't involve their character.

The point is if you're outside you're not private. If there are two people whispering in a quiet room right next to you you're pretty likely to be able to hear them. You're very lucky to find anywhere to be private in a crowded place and so many times I've witnessed whispered conversations being held between two people while they hold another conversation or two with others around them. In those situations I'd have thought anybody would catch something.
I would suggest breaking up what you hear similar manner to radios (I'm pretty certain you can recieve broken transmissions IG, correct me if I'm wrong) and increasing the frequency of broken whispers during periods of heightened activity in the area. i.e. If somebody whispers within five minutes of somebody talking, a vehicle arriving or some other noisy event then more of what was said is inaudible and fragmented.

is this peoples idea of fun now seen as cantr is slowly but surely becoming......well, dead.
i means seriously even quillanoi south has a potatoe harvester. all it has is potatoes and sand. what else is there to do in cantr aside from contributing to decent RP? this new overhearing whispers thing is not my idea of stirring things up.
what ever happened to a good old fashioned war?

So you think it is more fun and is better RP reading through a big wall of "You see X talking to Y" than to overhear their talk about how the mayor practices dark religions? Or how Jane cheated on Adam? Or that they are planning a coup on the government?
Not exactly my idea of fun. :S All I really get out of your posts is that it makes Cantr not Cantr according to you, but not some proper arguments as for how it is bad for the game.

i believe i made a decent argument stating that it's been the same for seven years and now all the sudden people can possibly overhear things that are not their buiness, and wouldn't you think that it would put the player behind " the mayor " or " Jane " in a awkward position if someone accidentally heard them?
and wouldn't that also make things more awkward for a player who has a village idiot that doesn't speak but hears how two people plan to murder his best friend?......do these points raise a decent enough argument?

And on that note, if you're in for the post count, go play a forum game.playerslayer666 wrote:Rebma19 wrote:Playerslayer...honestly, what's it to you? This doesn't affect you eh? Leave some room for the people it does to post their opinions without being bombarded by you lol.
i need to get to 666 posts somehow. might as well nag at people for stupid stuff like horrible game changes. just because i am bored of the game doesn't mean i don't care about it anymore. it's still a decent game.......for now
P.s Cantr has changed immeasurably in seven years. Thought you might wanna know. Take it from me, 1000's till now..

If anything kills Cantr it's constant beatings from the 'Cantr's dying!' stick. We've heard it all before, but the thing is, things change! Things always change! There are periods of growth and periods of decline but there is no such thing as constant growth. Just chill out and take life as it comes. If you're right about Cantr dying then it appears 'good old fashioned war' is not enough. As it is I see no reason to believe Cantr will die until it stops striving to become the best it can be. I say we try it and if it doesn't work we scrap it, at the very least it shows willing on everyone's part to make the game the best it can be.
But please, please don't immediately hate things because they make the game different to how it was before. That's incredibly unconstructive. Find a legitimate and solid reason for complaint but don't spout opinion. We only need to hear it once, it's not hard to forget.

There was a time when iron could be pulled straight out of the ground.

If the idiot can't understand then where's the problem? If he can then he'll have his own response and so long as that's not "I was lying! I can speak! Look out John, he's going to kill you!" I don't see a problem.
