Hmm. I think excercising should only be possible with machinery or equipment. (Iron dumbbell, Standing bycicle, hindernis course, etc)
I'd persume it would be easier to implement as well. As you can just combine elements from the resting code (ammount of tiredness gained/lost) with the skill/stat gain code from working on a machine.

Which skills are you actually able to max out in two years anyway? It shouldn't work (much) faster than training other skills. One category per decade perhaps.
Pretty in pink.

I finally figured out what I was getting at when I started this ball rolling.. its not the action that I was worried about but the location. If someone is in the water.. thats what I wanted to have. like if someone is in a vehicle. it doesnt have to say swimming.. just in the water

you can roleplay it without have a project for it =/
You can roleplay having a computer, logging on to cantr and playing cantr!
Wouldnt be much fun though, unless youve got an overactive imagination.
Cantr is not a freeform roleplaying game, its a rules based game. People often say "just RP it", but that really isnt the spirit of the game to RP everything IMO. Rules make it more interesting, it imposes limits and can create realism.
Swimming could be good for reaching pirates while after they undock, or even swimming across a lake. It could also be used maybe to escape from a boat?
I dont think we need anything else that adds strength though, theres already hunting and fighting.

Unfortunately, doing that would not enable the character to interact with anyone on shore, which I think was one of the main ideas of the suggestion. Also, the location would then get littered with unused swimsuits. The roleplay would be...awkward.
I still think a swimming project that increases strength would be good. The infrastructure's already there to support it, we'd just need to make an appropriate device to run it. (kick-board, snorkel, etc). Of course, then you could swim anywhere, not just on the shore.

Unless you left it docked to shore? You could just RP being in the shallows then.. lol.. I can just imagine rocking up to a location and finding swimsuits 1 - 100 abandoned there. You could make them as dinghy's or whatever else can only fit one person

So you could swim the great Cantr channel (slowly I guess) in theory if implemented and come out looking like the hulk? I like it.

Seriously? Swimming? I can see it as an excercise thing, but where would one swim? Wouldn't they be moving somewhere? And if so, they'd die at sea because you'd get tired and drown way to quickly. Maybe if they had rivers or other small bodies of water in Cantr.
Or a swimming pool option.
