Yeah, if the container was locked then we would simply hide the pick up -buttons for the items inside, and you would have to open the container in order to gain access to the contents.
But I don't think a person could block access to a selection of goods, unless the person was for example sitting on top of a crate, and in a case like that, the items would be hidden from view.
If the contents can be seen then they should also be available for grabbing, unless there is a glass window or a grid that has such tiny holes that a hand can't fit through.
If the container has solid doors or is in another means closed and doesn't have transparent parts, then the contents wouldn't show up on the objects page but could only be seen by opening the container (in current terms, by clicking on the empty this container button).
