I can still access my characters by manually typing the link, so no, they are not gone, just the links, events, and <CANTR>

Yeah, I could enter characters even after the events went blank so the damage wasn't extending to other regions, but it's still a bummer. Surely there should be protective measures to the equivalent of delete *.*? I was just reading this PHP/MySQL manual last night and it said if you forget to define the WHERE part, the change will affect everything in the table.

Or more to the point if you deliberately remove the texts table in the test environment to test a backup restore ... ensure you really are in the test environment and not attached to the game server :oops:
Oh well at least our backups restore perfectly well ;)
