Re: Welcome, New Players! (or Welcome Back, Old Players!)
Actually joined... I think three days ago? Four? I just hadn't bothered with the forum until last night. I have issues handling people sometimes and didn't feel up for it. It's easier when I'm roleplaying, though I think that's affected, too. (Bluh, depression)
Anyway last night I went on a massive wiki walk and started a new character first thing in the morning, and another a few hours ago.
I may be a wee bit hooked, if my social drive doesn't vanish suddenly. I hope not, I'm kind of liking it here.
I do have a few questions though, if anyone's willing to answer. I don't want to start a new thread; makes things cluttered.

Welcome Lazarae! A few days is actually pretty quick to join the forums I think. Well it took me like a month..
And we're more than willing to answer!
Oh and there's also the IRC channel which there's a link to on the main page.
And some simple questions we can answer on this same thread.

Welcome to Cantr, Lazarae. I'm also happy to answer any questions you have in PM. Also, this game is quite slow-paced and you can generally get by stepping away from the game for a few days when you have to - so if you're having an off-day here or there, it's no big deal. Just setup a long project and most people will leave you alone while you do whatever needs to be done. As long as you don't go more than 19 days between logins, your characters will be fine. (Or longer on vacation mode.)
Or - like Joshuamonkey mentioned - there's also IRC for questions as well.

...I just realized I sent an email instead of a PM. I'll just blame Cantr for being bad for my sleep.
Generally I try to join the forum with the game, when they're separate so it's slow for me.
I might pop into the irc when I'm feeling up for it. I was just worried it might be a bit overwhelming.

Well the IRC is pretty quiet..but there are people there usually ready to quickly answer questions.

Welcome Lazarae!
I'm quite the introvert as well and get overwhelmed if too much is going on around me at times. If you spawn in the right towns then it won't be a problem and if the town you end up in is more busy than you like, you can always have your character travel elsewhere.
I really hope you enjoy the game!

Thank you! So far things have been pretty quiet, but
well
I think that's why I have a character problem. I can't stop making them. I made another earlier tonight and I have two more I'm writing descriptions for in my document before I make them. I've started not making characters until I have two in mind, one stronger and one weaker so their build descriptions match their actual strength.
I figure if I have enough there'll always be something to do, right?
Almost five days in and I already need an intervention. Save me.
(No. Don't. I like it here.)

I had the same problem, but the game will stop you at 15 characters, so there is a hard ceiling. Some days it feels like not enough characters, and some days it feels like too many. I'm such a Cantrholic.

This is the Curse of Cantr summed up in a single sentence...

Imagine one day there would be.. hemp loin clothes, bras, and socks. Only the true hardcore would wear them and feel "comfortable".

Back with a single character. I'm slowly reading up on what has changed, though I've nearly forgotten everything I knew that was already there. To me it seems the two most important additions are the new character menus that open on the event page - whoever did that has my thanks. The other addition is the ability to make custom clothing descriptions now.
Hope I'll stick around and make a lot more memories with you guys.

Most of the coding changes and features have been done by Greek, so thank you Greek!

And welcome back Wiro! Glad to see you back.
By the way there's Seko's video about the new things in Cantr.

It's also possible for characters over 70 to die of old age if the player wants them to die.
