Dear Snickie,
So glad you wrote. You are not stupid. Sometimes I let people make mistakes so they can learn things, because it saves a lot of time. Many wise people have written about this over the years, here's a small sampling.
John Wooden wrote:If you're not making mistakes, then you're not doing anything. I'm positive that a doer makes mistakes.
Bill Clinton wrote:If you live long enough, you'll make mistakes. But if you learn from them, you'll be a better person. It's how you handle adversity, not how it affects you. The main thing is never quit, never quit, never quit.
Bill Clinton knows from mistakes, by the way. That guy, I tell you.
Johnny Cash wrote:You build on failure. You use it as a stepping stone. Close the door on the past. You don't try to forget the mistakes, but you don't dwell on it. You don't let it have any of your energy, or any of your time, or any of your space.
Johnny sends his love, by the way.
Oscar Wilde wrote:Experience is simply the name we give our mistakes.
Benjamin Franklin wrote:Do not fear mistakes. You will know failure. Continue to reach out.
James Joyce wrote:Mistakes are the portals of discovery.
Miley Cyrus wrote:I always say the minute I stop making mistakes is the minute I stop learning and I've definitely learned a lot.
Oh, Miley. Do you really need all that sideboob? Call me.
Anyway, all the geniuses in history, and even some of the less-than-genius, know that those who risk nothing tend not to fail too much, but they also tend not to live. Don't do that.
Thanks again for writing, so few people take the time these days.
See you in Cantr.
Love,
God

Cabbage loopers have killed two of my cauliflower and maimed two of my broccoli.
Bacillus Thuricidae to the rescue, but between these and the potato bugs and the Japanese beetles and the cuke beetles....
Actually it makes me wonder how anybody ever grew anything before modern technology?
And, whether we could use some locusts and blight in Cantr.

No, [character name omitted], you may not jump through the window. For one thing you're not one of my tiny characters, and for another, just... no.
Not even if you were going to do cool flippy things upon landing so you didn't hurt yourself. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be able to pull them off anyway.
Now shush, you. Go work on your language-inventing or something.

I don't normally like to share my problems or anything on here but... Goodness I've been feeling absolutely miserable.
Unable to breathe through my nose because of a head cold, then add in really bad sneezing along with breathing through the mouth because the nose is all stuffed up which then helps lead to a swollen uvula, which makes swallowing extremely uncomfortable with the fear of being unable to breathe at all if it swells big enough...
Ugh..
/self-pity party

*rant-mode: ACTIVATED*
A few weeks ago (Might be closer to a month or more, I don't remember) I looked at my dog very carefully, and she seemed a bit fat under her sheep-like fur (which I adore on her because she looks so cute) and I thought, this dog might be pregnant. Just in case, like a sane person would do -please note the sarcasm-, I proceeded to safeproof my room with carboard boxes and duct tape, made a "bed" for her and the potential puppies by washing MANUALLY old rags and I cut her hair off ( I normally do my dogs' hair grooming myself because we don't have much money to begin with) and the entire time, she was burping and it smelled awful, and farting. All of this in a day. By the time I was done with her haircut, she looked exactly as I know her, not skinny but lean. I thought she was gassy and since I don't really have enough money for a vet i was grateful because in my opinion, that was a proof she wasn't pregnant. The times matched and she would've been big already by then if she were pregnant. I was relieved.
So. Today, 25 minutes after midnight, my dog gave birth to a puppy. One puppy. I grabbed the "bed" from where I had it stashed, and waited for the rest of the puppies. Right now, it's 8:24am, and no more puppies have arrived. Only that one. In my exhaustion, I have decided to call it Jaqen: because not only he was as sneaky as his namesake, but the puppy has spots, and in some weird tired crazy world in my head it reminded me of Jaqen H'gar.
That's all i needed to say. And now I am going to finish my 6th cup of coffee and going to bed.
