Our chars all have different personalities, interests and, presumably IQs, right? What I said was meant to indicate that the chars do not necessarily know everything in the wiki. Their knowledge of things in the Cantr world should reflect their individuality.
If all of your chars are super-smart, super-capable, super-beings then, by all means, roleplay that they know everything there is to know. If they aren't then it would be more in-character for them to not automatically understand how to do complex things like make iron. If you can't keep at least a vague idea of what your chars know then you need to make notes or something.
I have the worst memory possible for all the events and items and people my chars have encountered but even I can remember if my char has traveled all over a continent or stayed in the same little forest her whole life and I am going to rp their knowledge base differently from each other.
Cantr isn't a competition, your chars don't win or lose (and neither do you), so you're chars are only as "disadvantaged" as you choose to make them. Players who don't or can't follow the forums or refer to the wiki are still going to be less knowledgeable in terms of all the ins and outs of the game, it's true.
I think KeVes is trying to come up with some condensed but acurate ways for the Polish players to be better and more knowledgeable players who don't accidently break the rules.
