Thats great. Maybe you should see the show. It will introduce you to the characters and the world that you will see on September 30th.

Or, as I think I pointed out in an earlier thread, November the 4th if you live in the UK. :(

But yes to all those who have never heard of Serenity or Firefly, watch the series first and you'll appreciate the characters a whole lot more.

Finally, did you say there's advance screenings on April 27th? that's very advanced. :)

And happy spawn... err... birthday to all those who it applies to.

No, there are advance screening May 5 in 10 cities here in the US but every single ticket was sold in less than three hours when this was announced. I think Universal underestimated the Browncoats.

The buzz on Serenity is all over the internet. Believe it or not it as broken the back of Batman Begins since both trailers (Batman's last trailer before hitting theaterss) came out on the same day and Serenity kicked its ass.

On blogs and Yahoo! the buzz for the Serenity trailer out did Batman Begins Trailer, Superman's new costume, and Star Wars annoucement of a TV Show.

The Browncoats have done some mighty things since 2002. We got FOX to make the DVDs. We got Universal to purchase the rights and make a movie. Even when everyone told us it wouldn't happen and it would be stupid to even think about or dream. And now the world is taking notice. In less than 72 hours, Serenity trailer has made thousands of people flock and join the Official fan site at Serenitymovie.com. Before the trailer there was about 25,000 and now it is about to top 30,000 membership and still growing at a faster pace. Serenity trailer just hit theaters today in front of Hitch Hikers. Just hit theaters! Since the trailer hit the internet, the Firefly DVDs went from being around 200 on Amazon.com to being as low as 18 and currently fits in nicely at below 30 (currently 26 to be exact). The oldest DVD in the top 30.

We also sold out 10 theaters in 10 cities in less than three hours for advance screening next week.

There is a saying among us Browncoats, "Doing the impossible makes us mighty." And that is what happened. We did the impossible. We are mighty.

Joss Whedon announced on Serenitymovie.com last night that there are going to be 20 more screening on May 26th. There has yet to be any official word from Universal but needless to say, almost every theater that could be found pre-screening Serenity on the 26th has been sold out.

This time the tickets might get sold out long before Universal makes an official announcement. Last time it took only 3 hours for all the tickets to be sold from the official announcement. There is also serious talk about moving Serenity up to a late summer release.

CRUSHING DISAPPOINTMENT...

...is not in store! Good things are coming... to a theater (possibly) near you!

It's Joss, your roving reporter, with another ZOWIE! exclusive(!) hot off the presses! Browncoats Bring Boffo B.O.! Vegas Vibe Very Vivacious! You heard it first here, true believers...

Okay, first of all, being that guy is exhausting. So no more roving and on to the meat of the thing. I just saw the whole cast today (which is in itself a wonderful and rare thing) and we all compared notes on the screenings, the general feeling being: damn. As in, Big Damn. You guys were SO sweet. We all thought it was a grand time. More (or at least just as) importantly, the Uni Brass thought it worked out great too, so... wait for it... there's gonna be more.

You might have heard rumors, but I'm here to confirm. On thursday the 26th the studio is doing another round of hit-and-run screenings, and this time it's not ten cities -- it's twenty. It's another vote of confidence from the studio and another chance for us to say "thanks" to you guys for keeping this all rolling. And most importantly, another chance to run that videotape of me before the movie, looking so tragically sexy.

"Wait a minute! What cities!?!?! Hey, %#$@face, stop talking about how sexy you are (although you are confessedly quite the dish) and give us the info!" Well, I don't actually know. I think we'll be repeating in the cities we've hit and adding 10 new ones. I expect can'tstopthesignal will have the info some time tomorrow, and let the manager-threatening begin! (Or, you know, the ticket buying.) Hopefully one of those cities will be near you, and won't be one where the film breaks and has to start again (heh heh... professional showbusiness... ). I don't know if any of the peeps is gonna be able to come out this time, but if they can they will, and I know Jewel's going somewhere 'cause she was working last time.

That's it! Except to add that Summer and I were pretty overwhelmed last Thurs, and I got the impression everyone else was too. Of course everyone else didn't have to put up with Summer's constant whispering of "I SAVED this film, Hackboy!" or her "surefire" system of winning at craps that had me down six large come the dawn... That girl. Just trouble.

Enough with this post. You guys are beyond swell. Let the party continue.
