Aww. That sounds really great. When I was in first grade, there was a girl in my class who had both arms but they hadn't developed properly so she couldn't use either of them for anything and often used her feet to write. Maybe even to eat. I can't remember. And when we had a project that required cutting paper, we would all try to volunteer to cut for her. It was really great. She tried to do everything on her own, but there were things she needed help with. We all loved her but I think she may have moved after that school year. I hadn't thought about her in a really long time, so I hope she is still doing well out there, wherever she may be.

For the first time ever I actually know for sure at least one of you is talking about a non-infamous character I've seen :3 What a strange feeling. Her's is the most non-overused (within the Cantr world) disability I've ever seen RPed, and of what I saw it was well done too.

It really was, ObsessedwithCats. I wish I could remember her name. I almost want to say it was... Mikky? That is probably wrong... I have such a bad memory when it comes to names. But I definitely never would have thought to use that disability. I'm sure it must definitely be a challenge. I really liked the way she had removed her cloak to show her stubs off to someone who first suggested she harvest the potatoes. I could actually see it. It was greatly role-played.

I think her name began with 'Br', though I'm not great with names myself.

It was Bryn =) she was very memorable, and my character won't forget her soon either, he remembers everyone, he tried to find her something she could do without her arms because she was bored, and he was sad that she left.
And yeah, it's nice to see something unusual and well done like this, like I said, I've only seen one incident where a character was missing a leg and I don't think the character continued long, he kinda disappeared as far as I know. Although, with as many horrific injuries Cantrians suffer, you'd think more would be missing something after going to war, or working with dangerous tools or machines. I mean really, how do you get hit in the arm with a battleaxe and keep your arm? How come there's no laborers who lose fingers trying to use the vehicle assembly line or the potato harvester? I'm so morbid, pfft...I guess it falls in with the fact that being hit with a battleaxe should just kill you no matter where it lands, but Cantrians are stronger than we are in real life, so maybe their limbs are way harder to sever =P I roleplayed my character almost getting cut in half by a battleaxe once, they're pretty tough I guess...

I think it's difficult to RP major injuries sometimes. I've seen some instances and it all seems kind of...contrived? It's like the player thought "Hey, wearing an eyepatch would be cool. The next person who hits me with a feather pillow is in for a surprise!" And I'm sure a lot of it is that players don't want their "ultimate" chars disabled - they stick with scars so they can look like a badass and still act like one.

Not sure if I should put this in quirks or chardescs... I'll let it speak for itself.

I know who that is, and I've been meaning to name them in the best chardesc thread. Oh well.
I've also been meaning to praise them. Very well played characters (as well as great looking), both of them.

Re: What are the best character quirks you've encountered?
To be honest, there wasn't a huge amount to it beyond his insistence with referring to himself as we (and other ways, except ever first person singular). He was a capitalist as well and one of the few characters that seemed to use others to make money back in the day.
But another character started to refer to him as Mr. and Mr. Grax (Tencious Grax was very much one person) and the character has therefore stuck in my mind for a decade. He was very consistently played.
EDIT: Mr Grax was also something of an aspiring politician, who did manage to beat Jonathan Russell (the President of Quillanoi, played by the game's founder Jos Elkink) but never actually got to enjoy that as the game was rolled back and the result was different when replayed. However, he played the part of the industrialist republican versus Russell's more political democrat. Quite impressive given his little speech quirk. Russell and Grax are two of my favourite all time Cantrian characters.

Oh my goodness. I miss old Quillanoi. John Woodhouse and his huge...unreal pile of stone. He insisted that it was better quality than anyone else could produce.

Met a char who's devoted her life to producing absurd quantities of raspberry jam. Inspired me to have another char start to experiment with various foods, in hopes of becoming devoted to a handful.
Additionally, Snoop of Amsterdam is the first Cantarian I've seen who's decided he wants to get it on with the animals. The bears, particularly.
