First of all, I don't think incentivize is a word.

I doubt anything like this will ever happen. Maybe an option to synchronize your avatar to yourself, just for fun, but locking people out of games for being fat? That ship won't sail. Xbox 360's have plenty of problems as they are now.

A good reason to buy a PS3 and as a PS3 owner I'm glad I have one and in fact I'm posting this from a PS3 right now which you couldn't do on a 360.

All in all, I don't think this will happen soon but the near future it is possible. There are already companies that are firing people for being overweight or smokers so I could definitely see this coming down the road sooner or later.

Microsoft's filing goes on to note that it wouldn't just be physical characteristics that could be refined. "The physical characteristics can be further extended to psychological traits associated with the physical person, including intelligence, religious beliefs, political affiliations, and hobbies that affect the rendering of an avatar," the application reads.
