"Serenity" added to Universal's Coming Soon sectio

Well it seems that the Firefly movie is well on its way and we keep getting good news.

About a two weeks ago, a so called Universal insider posted on www.fireflyfans.net that the movie was to go into production sometime in May, that the original cast and crew were having their contracts hammered out, that Whedon has thrown away the original movie script that would wrap up Firefly to write a new script that could relaunch the Firefly series, and that the working title for the Firefly movie was "Serenity".

A week after that, Universal quietly places a movie called "Serenity" under its coming soon section of the website and bought the Internet domain name www.serenitymovie.com.

For those non-Browncoats or undereducated Firefly people, Serenity is the name of the starship in Firefly. So this is all goods news. Still no 'official' word from Universal but Adam Baldwin and Nathan Fillion, who post regularly on the official Firefly board, haven't posted in a long time. Joss Whedon and the people at Mutant Enemy have been very up and hint that things are going well to a resurrection of Firefly.

Here's to hoping that Firefly will fly again and I just wanted to share this great news with the Cantr Community. Now go out and buy your Firefly Complete Series on DVD and when the movie comes out in 2005, go and see it and make it a box office hit.
