"World maps"

Postby Jos Elkink » Sun Aug 03, 2003 3:50 pm

I found in Krif maps that cover pretty much the whole currently inhabited world. Although it might be that the first sailors reached another island - I don't actually think the two big islands were 'bridged' yet, but who knows - it can never be that the information from those trips already reached Krif. Hence, how were those maps assembled? Somebody has been breaking the capital rule here majorly, and the information is already spreading over the area, which is really annoying. Does anyone know more about those maps?

Krif got several maps compiled from many sources. We even got some from people walking in. Thats why it says that most the info is un-tested. But we got our maps from Jill tinker and many other sources. I don't think we broke the capital rule... but maybe we did. I don't know. We just found a bunch of old maps in the KSF and put them together.

If you have any more questions about Krif, feel free to ask. My char there is Rick, in charge of Imperial Production (promotion!). :P

You may not have broken the cr (probably didn't) but someone did. It would probably be pretty darn hard to figure out who at this point, I don't think there is a way to track who created original notes.

Well, tracing the perpetrator is less important in this case than trying to limit the 'damage', I think ...

I was wondering, since most of the "junk maps" can be edited why don't we start erasing them when they are found and the note saved empty and thrown in the trash? By the way...contact has been made between Lad and Siom...as of a day or so ago...

Well, just censor, don't completely erase ;) ...
And try to find an IC excuse, like Maynard did ...

Well I didn't make the map, thus I have no excuse. I got the map when I first went to work for Maynard in the KSF. It was standard for everyone to get one. But the map says at the top it was compiled from many many sources. I can only assume He didn't cheat. I really don't know.

Here's what happened, when Maynard woke up from his sleep he complied the map from all the sources he had to give to Jacob Siomons and to provide Krif with the info. I have only edited it once sense then. A couple days ago a stranger had come into town and after ignoring several requists for him to identify himself proceeded to poke his nose into a bunch of buildings and littered the ground with some stuff, one piece of litter was a map of Siom, Lad, Quil, etc. The guy still didn't reply after he was warned again and ended up being killed because of his actions. This is the person I believe to be responsible for editing the main map on the ground and leaving it titled the same. I normally don't look AT the map to check it, I just would check the ground and see if it was there, so the changes weren't discovered until Jos's char arrived in Krif. The junk maps have been put away and the real map is once more on the ground in Krif.

I would be surprised if many longtime players don't know my chars by now.

yep, but Krif is on a different island to Miron, Naron, and Shai. and no contact has been made between them as far as we know. and certainly not to the extent to get the detail in these maps
