from my friend to hallucinating farmer:

Well, like avi discussed, Centrum is a new creation -- and a roleplay-based one, at that. We're looking for all kinds of players in EVE: new and old alike. The game is severely overwhelming at first, and the visual exhuberance/novelty does wear out quite fast. To prevent a complete burn-out, I'd suggest meeting a group of like-minded players (in this case, I'd say roleplayers). Roleplay really makes the difference to me, and, though I've thus far experienced little of it, I'm eager to use Centrum as a front to find new RPrs to play with. EVE is quite the game, and I'm finding myself struggling to stick with it (I came from a very strict roleplaying background of over three years of Neverwinter Nights Persistent worlds) -- I suggest finding us in game for more details. We'll ask Avi to post the webpage's link. It's being completed as we speak.

That sounds good avi, I think I've just hit the burnout mentioned... And there's zero RP in EVE, well, at least from anyone but me so far...

That was exactly my experience! For one evening I thought, wow, this is cool, and then the next day, or the day after, I was bored. And the reason is to a very large extent (also with Entropia, which I liked somewhat better) exactly this:

I am always surprised in how many of those MMORPGs (which has 'RPG' in its name) it's actually players talking to players rather than characters. It's always about their real lives etc. Like once in Entropia I walked into a very nice house, and there were two chars sitting in the living room, and I just joined them and had a chat. In terms of interface / graphics / etc. it was totally realistic and I thought it was one of the coolest experiences in the game so far. But all the conversation was about, was about the game itself (interface design etc.), about what they did in real life, how long they had been playing, etc. There was zero conversation that could be considered in-character.

If anyone finds a game that has 1) 3d graphics; 2) is cheap to play; 3) has true roleplay (no out-of-character chatting); and 4) has enough freedom to play e.g. politics and economics, then please warn me :) ...

I still think there is space for a cool 3d version of Cantr, space-based or otherwise, since I don't think something like that exists.

Kev, I had very nice holidays ;) ... But I'm not really returning from a holiday, I'm still trying not to be involved in Cantr :) ... Just this week I'm failing badly :) ...

I've stumbled across an MMORPG - www.seedthegame.com - the community seems to be fairly mature and RPers more than the usual 12 year old MMORPG player - it's still in beta though...
