Fine. Not overly insightful, but basically I think some people are just stupid, and no one has yet found a way to change it from the outside. It sometimes goes away eventually, sometimes not.

This is a frighteningly large chunk of the population at any age, and at the moment has a great deal of influence on society. Possibly causing some people who could be otherwise to try to join the ranks of the stupid.

And I think that a lot of what is called immaturity is stupidity...for instance, if you actually thought sticking out your tongue and sayhing 'Neener neener' was an effective retort...which of course you don't.

There. I sometimes try to create a more complicated model, but they tend to get jammed somewhere...so this is it.

EDIT:
So the only thing I think age has to do with it, past...quite early, though I'm not sure just when, is that teenagers are likely more suceptable to absorbing the 'stupid culture'.

*Wipes the drool from his lip and scratches his forehead.*
Of course I know what you mean, and I will be the first person here that will tell people that I am "not the smartest person playing cantr" Not even close. But, I try my hardest to give everyone a chance no matter what they act like. And yes it does not matter about age when we talk about stupid people. I find that as I have been getting older, I have more fun acting like a kid. And many might find that as being immature or stupid but I have fun and to me, that is the most important thing in the world. Of course I do care what others think and many times I go overboard. But, I am still having fun.

Well...playing at something like that isn't the same thing as being it. Overboard or not, you're still a mature, thinking person pretending to be witless, or infantile, or whatever. Which changes the entire thing.

And it has little to do with 'not the smartest person here'. I was talking about a qualitative property, not a quantitative one. I don't think someone with an IQ of 80 has to be stupid as I'm using it...nor need someone at 120 not be.

You have a good point there Industrialist. I must admit I have seen quite a few people around my age absorbing, as you put it, the 'stupid culture'. I don't really see it as much in the older people I meet.

there's a whole world of difference between stupidity - as in lack of intelligence - and annoying idiocy.

You don't have to be clever to be a great and friendly person (you don't even have to be able to speel proper) - in fact, I find a lot of intelligent people can be quite arrogant.

And anyways - hooray for the Cantr teens
*cheers*
- they knock the socks of the teenagers in forums elsewhere - we're lucky - don't scare them off - it could be a whole lot worse...

And Pie, getting made fun of is part of life. As one of my friends might say, "Deal."
