Why not? The suggestion has been thoroughly discussed and it is still accepted. I don't know if I keep on playing once implemented, but it's bad work to have this feature implemented for so without it actually been implemented.
Just get it over with or withdraw this change.

Are there lots of fuel producing economies yet?
I just hope it's fully implemented when we have the capabilities to produce the juice for the vehicles.

Finally an industry that doesn't relate to iron and steel! How can you all hate this?

But it does. Well, you can make a pot still out of some other materials than steel but if you want to be effective gathering water, you will need a bucket and that's either made of iron or requires a carving knife, which is made of iron. So how would you make fuel without iron?

Those are small one time costs. And anyone that can afford a motorized vehicle should be able to come up with the few hundred in metal that it costs (or thousands, depending on which route you take). I believe that DylPickle was saying that it will be a sustainable economy that does not create or consume iron/steel. There are not too many of those (food, and perhaps clothing).

Yeah, Talapus, you caught what I was meant.
Iron and steel is and always will be the main drive of the game, but when new markets such as aluminum and fuels come into play it ups the diversity of the game. It opens the possibilities of the game from trade all the way to war. It's great.

I actually wouldn't mind it either, but the general consensus of this thread seems that most people were against it.

I hope people start shipping fuel around, then there would be something worth pirating. My only character wtih a motorised vehicle has made quite a lot of alcohol but I don't know how fast it will be consumed. I also wish that alcohol could be consumed to get drunk so that you could have an excuse for acting stupid.

Sooooooooooooooooo? :?

When you know you are ready to implement this, we could have a counter that counts days til this will be implemented, so more people can be prepared. 40-70 days would be good.

Why is this in the implemented category if it is not implemented?

I guess the code is implemented, but it hasn't been switched on yet.
Pretty in pink.
