Beauty Care Items
A totally girlie topic but your characters must be suffering from the lack of beauty care items! At least some of mine are. Almost all of them have messy hair, some just don't pay attention to it. I'm wondering how come others don't suffer from the same trouble, or don't they just bother to rp it?
Anyway, we need combs, mirrors, brushes... Some might say make-up too but it's easy to rp for example using coal or crushed berries for painting your face. But, if you would rp making a comb or something people might complain because such things don't exist in Cantr. It's about the same thing as pipes. You don't even dare to rp smoking hemp anymore because you can't explain how you made your pipe without tools! Anyway, but that's off subject. Ignore this, ignore this!
Combs take about one day to make and the metal ones should deteriorate really slowly because ain't such things dug up by archeologists all the time?
Bone comb
Resources: 30 grams of small bones
Tools: knife
Wooden comb
Resources: 30 grams of wood
Tools: knife, maybe a file
Copper comb
Resources: 40 grams of copper
Tools: I dunno, if you can make a trowel with bare hands then why not a comb?
Iron comb
Resources: 20 grams of iron
Tools: ??? Probably a file
Bronze comb
Resources: 30 grams of bronze
At least at the moment they'd have nothing more than the rp value. But I'm sure any real girls would appriciate them.
Mirrors:
The primitive version: Polished disc of copper/iron/bronze
How would you polish them? With a rag? I think there should be a smelting furnace around. There ain't enough machine checks in Cantr anyway.
A complex mirror:
Resources: window glass, silver (for the backside), frame material that can be gold (with diamonds if you want to be fancy), silver, bronze, iron, copper, wood or even bone. But not all of them!!
Tools: grinder (or what ever it's called, the thing that's used for eyeglasses)
Mirrors should have a (short) description, big or small, oval, round or square shaped, ornamented or plain, with a handle or not...? Big mirrors could be listed under Furniture but the little personal things require a new category.
Brushes have some sort of... I don't know what's the word for it actually... And I don't know where it comes from.

Excellent suggestions, Seko.
We need to get a lot more useful products from the different animals. I asked for claws and teeth before but was turned down flat. Why? We can get i**** from a certain animal, why can't we get other kinds of resources from other animals?
Why is it we can get 100 different kinds of weapons but not the basics of social life? I want to simulate some society here not play with my knives all day!
These kinds of things also make excellent courtship gifts. We need more stuff like that, please!

One of my guys might like a variety of combs... So not a totally girlie topic.
But I want musical instruments if these are implemented. One of my characters needs a flute or a lute!

No offence, Pie... but can;t you use a spell check on your posts before you inflcit them on us? You have useful points to say... but I find it hard to read a post riddled with so many mistakes...

A comb can double as a musical instrument if you're desperate enough.
How about ivory combs? Those used to be popular.
I agree that claws and teeth would be great. Primitive people found tons of uses for them, as decorative items and otherwise.
And while I'm typing this, I might as well ask again, more variety in jewelry items, please!

Language is a thing of beauty...kinvoya wrote:The topic is beauty items, please.
No?
Okay then...
Anyway... beauty items, musical instruments... we need more things like this.
And don't make them ridiculously expensive. What's the point in that?
