Lockable Containers on Boats
It is bad enough that larger boats are basically helpless against being boarded by crews of smaller boats regardless of the lock, but at least there should be some way of building lockable containers on board to protect valuables.
Ideally, I would like to be able to build a lockable room on board, but I will settle for a container of some sort.....such as the lockable trunk.

Agreed.
If you've never seen a large ship, *cough*
a rowboat would have a VERY hard time docking to a larger vessel.
First, the dock on a rowboat is anywhere from 20 to 50 feet closer to the water than on a larger ship (especially a galleon). They'd have to throw a rope or a rope ladder up all those feet, then climb up without getting thrown off or killed by the people ABOVE them. Upper ground=advantage, no?
To be able to do in real life what a dinghy can do to a galleon in cantr, this is what would need to happen:
First, dinghies are anti-gravity. They float above the surface of the water. And they're not open, they're closed like spacecraft.
To dock, they float above the water to an altitude level with the deck of the larger boat. Then, they use their claws to fix themselves IMMOVEABLY to the dock of the larger boat. There is no way to remove them.
Then, the force-field at the front of the boat is fitted so that those with transmitters (i.e, keys) can pass through it with loot and weapons and so forth, while those on the bigger boat can, at best, hope to stick their weapons through the force field and poke people (and this is only SINCE we fixed the bug that didn't let those people get hurt at all)
When the dinghy (or whatever) has taken all that it can hold, its crew jumps back inside the force field and they detach the claws, and fly off to deprive other people.
See, this seems a BIT implausible to me.
Lockeable cabins are a must, if locks on larger boats don't work to block dockers from entering.
And by the way, how can a lock block people from entering from shore or a dock but not from another vessel?

I don't have a car, so I wouldn't know, but are there trunks on cars? It would be helpful to have those, so if you wanted to kidnap someone you could just shove them in the trunk, no worries. Erm, plus of course to protect valuables. Think of it as a really small room, that can hold 1 person and 15000 additional grams max (that way you could load them even if they're carrying stuff)
How am I not myself?

Question, if a dingy docks to the galleon, can the pirates get out and get into a locked longboat already docked to the galleon? And a second question is can a dingy dock to a larger boat, and then have that larger boat dock to a galleon?
