There's no reason it needs to be a project, they can just treat it like playing a flute. (only this actually opens up RP possibilities while instruments are just annoying)

Yeah, instead of having a use button at all, there should be no event messages. That way people actually roleplay instead of going "Oh I just got back." You see X play flute. You see X hunt. "I hunted. Wow. Yay. Happy."

Don't want to mess with anybodys judgement, but is there anything stopping this suggestion to be accepted?

Its IMHO the perfect suggestion:
* Unobtrusive - doesn't change the game or balance in big parts.
* Enhances gameplay.
* Easy to implement.
* No known negative sideeffects.

Laziness? Well Wiro, why don't you join the RD and ProgD and work on it then?

I was planning to join RD, but am not completely sure. I've heard quite a bit of it now and think I'll stress myself and everyone out by being all hating how things aren't going fast enough. :P But yeah, mainly laziness, really. I'll probably apply sometime in the near future though.

Ok the one thing missing is the exact project to create a die.

My suggestion (and I think without rechecking it was more or less already there).

2 Kinds of die, wood and metal:

Wood die.
20g of wood.
Tools knife. (or also a file?)

Iron die.
10g of iron.
Tools file.

(and no its impossible to manipulate dice or create manipulated)
Edit: I'm not hot on the iron dice as well, if only wooden are possible its fine as well

I think we need ivory dice as well or since that is what many dice used to be made out of.

Ivory, wood, iron, stone. Just those four should be enough for now to avoid overcomplicating this.

How about ivory only?

K.I.S.S.!

That would be nice, but unfortunatly it would limit dice to only a few areas since many people do not have ivory. I think we should at least do ivory and wood. Most places can get one or the other fairly easily.

Wikipedia:

Dice were probably originally made from the ankle bones (specifically the talus or "astragalus") of hoofed animals (such as oxen), colloquially known as "knucklebones", which are approximately tetrahedral. Modern Mongolians still use such bones, known as shagai, for games and fortunetelling. In addition to bone, ivory, wood, metal, and stone materials have been commonly used. Recently, the use of plastics, including cellulose acetate and Bakelite, is nearly universal. It is almost impossible to trace clearly the development of dice as distinguished from knucklebones, because ancient writers confused the two. It is certain, however, that both were used in prehistoric times.

So actually it be to be done out of bones. So how about ivory and bones?

I know its totally unKISS, but should dice also detoriate?

Yeah I actually thought about being able to make dice out of bones, but the only problem there is that they would be all over the freakin place... I mean I am not opposed to it I guess, we just have to decide of dice are somthing that we want to make that easy to build...

Yeah we would add a slight deterioration rate on them. It wouldn't be much but it would still have a small rate.

Bone is fine IMO.

Bone, wood, ivory.

That should be enough.

20 grams of each, requires a knife. Takes a full day?
