small fire pit
I don't know if I missed this somewhere...although I have not been able to find it yet.
I've seen small fire place built indoor....and Wiki also mentioned it can be build anywhere, but has the code been changed so that is not the case anymore?
thanks!
John

To my surprise that's what the wiki says. I only built a firepit indoors about 30 days ago. What's wrong?
That would be because I edited the wiki after Chris Johnson said that. If it turns out the fire pit is buildable everywhere the wiki will be corrected to reflect that.

It was my experience that most (all?) machines buildable outdoors were also buildable in vehicles and ships.

Ok, but i'm sure sensible people didn't build ovens, pits or fireplaces on the decks of wooden sailships. Ships should be able to sink, catch fire and rot also. The char can have ample time to deal with it, ie not die within an hour, but cheap ships should be exhausted after... 20 years, for arguments' sake.

This isn't a thread for talking about the realism of a Cantr feature. It's a thread for people who want to know what the deal is with the small fire pit. If you want to discuss ship degradation, or the realism of having certain machines buildable on ships, the Suggestions forum is the correct place.
Short of staff telling us when the change was made and what exactly it was, I don't see there being much left to be discussed here - as the_antisocial_hermit says it's clear the small fire pit can no longer be built indoors.

The change to fire pits was made because there was a typo that was allwoing them to be built on bicycles.
Now, unless someone has a good rational for a bicycle to pile of stones cradling a side of beef roasting while people pedal around, we'll all just have to adapt to fire pits working the way they are.
Ships do have alternatives for cooking, so no one is being shut out now.

Reality was never my strong point.
