Hunting glitch

I tried to hunt all animals on a road, and succeeded in hitting one, but got this error.

I had struck some animals (on that road) in the previous hour, but normally you can't even try to hit stacks more than once in a day. (some of the stacks had no check-boxes before the attack that caused the error.)

I've had that same glitch about five times...this was previously mentioned here

ghosts are still there?

when an animal gets killed on the road it's "ghost" a placeholder representing the animal, still is visible on the road untill it travels to the end of it.

I'd thought someone had worked on this. Unless it's something new.

The thing is, that the animals you are trying to hit are in a pack. You have hit that pack before, but they remain in the list since you haven`t attacked the whole pack. While they are on the list, you still cannot hit them again, because "you may hit an animal only once a day" This might seem confusing, but you`ll learn how to hit only the animals in place in some time.

I don't think it's ghosts...none of the packs visible looked like ghosts, or population zero packs. And I didn't kill any animals the first time I attacked, anyway, though someone else could have at the other end of the road, I suppose.

Have you actually seen the current system? It is entirely aware of 'packs' (as it always was...) and will not, normally, allow you to even try to hit the same pack twice in the same period.

I don`t know what current system you are looking at, but I get to try hitting the animals in packs with more than 1 in them at any time, I just don`t succeed in actually hitting them. Or maybe I am the unnormal one. Try hitting some packs out of town and you`ll get the point. But after reviewing it, I see that the error message is different.:
ERROR: You can only hunt this pack of animals once per day.=

I've experienced the same thing Jaguar is talking about.

Right now I'm on a very long road on a bike and there are a plethora of animals to hunt.

Let's say I attack all 5 eligible packs successfully.

An hour or so later, I check again, and I see the option to hunt 4 or 5 more packs, with no option on a few others, but I get the "can only hunt once per day" message. If I don't use "Select all" and fiddle with the groups I can usually hit all but one of the available packs.

On another note, I don't if something is wrong or not, but my character is a good hunter, and has now attacked roughly 80 packs of animals over the last 7 days with ZERO kills. Granted, tortoises are tough, but I'm doing 15-18 to them and 40 to snakes, and I'm getting shut out here. I'm thinking it must just be bad luck. The only thing that gets me by is the image of a road strewn with maimed snakes and turtles behind.
