SQL Error 28

Postby Savanik » Mon Oct 17, 2005 7:29 pm

Earlier today (twice, now, around 1:30pm CST) I was trying to play and the game locked up on me - wouldn't load the next page. I flipped over to the forums to see if there were any posts about it and got:

DEBUG MODE
SQL Error : 1030 Got error 28 from table handler

After 2 or 3 minutes, the database went down entirely and I started getting the 'Critical Error: Could not connect to database' thing that you get when the server is backing up. Then five or so minutes later, it came back up for a few minutes, then locked up and crashed again.

I hit up Google and got the following information about that error message:

'One or more partitions on your server is out of space or doesn't have enough space to complete this operation. Shutdown your forums and contact your host immediately. You or your host will need to find out which partition is low on space and free up some more space.'

Another site commented that this could also happen if quotas were enabled and the /tmp directory ran out of space.

I haven't had it happen to me any more today. Posting it here to see if anyone has more information, had it happen to them, etc.
