You can also make leather from simply drying hide in the sun...but not in Cantr.

Would it be alright for a character to sell newspawn manuals? You know, a little yellow book entitled Cantr for Dummies.

Hmmm that's a good idea. I am going to start writing one and traveling around handing it out to towns.

Umm, I figured it would need salt, but there was a linguistic problem with the "machine" used, okay I say it aloud, curing tub. See I understood "curing" as somekinda healing. I hope no one gets provoked about this thing being discussed.

Seko: I made exactly the same incorrect assumption. Especially since it wouldn't be too weird to have improved health after taking a nice, long, relaxing bath.

This, along with the modern vehicles, is the only thing I found really disturbing with Cantr...

Regardless of what you say I don't see the realism in this kind of "trial and error" when you build things...

But where's the realism in having a list of all the tools available anywhere to pick from when building something.

I look at the Trial and Error as a form of discovery - it replaces what is, and always will be, impossible in Cantr - Invention. Most of the greatest discoveries in the world have been completely accidental - through Trial and Error basically.

I don't see it as people walking around with a list of projects IC...
Every game has it's limits, so a project list will always be necessary.

Yes, I keep hearing that...but I think it is a poor argument.
Sure, many inventions have been discovered by accident...but by SCIENTISTS, working theoretically. Regular people trying to improve their tools at their farm doesn't end up with a cure for cancer...
There is no logic in trying to build a very fast ship and ending up with an oil tanker...and that's how Cantr works at the moment.
I don't think every detail have to be seen before starting a project, but there should be hints about what something does.
