question/concern about animal populations
It happens that all of my chars live in places where hunting is restricted or illegal completely. In the restricted hunting towns, the rules are that you can't hunt any animal group to under a population of 4. The populations are not rising above 4 though, and it's been between 1 and maybe 5 cantr years since they were last hunted, depending on the particular town. It seems as though towns who practice responsible hunting aren't seeing the desired results of animals being more happy to live and reproduce there. I wonder if procreation is a bit stunted, or if my chars just happen to be in stunted growth areas.

I do not know exactly but it seems that the chance that the move is the same as the chance that the multiply.
There would have to be several locations acting together to keep the numbers high enough to multiply. If any location is absorbing spare animals then eventally the numbers everywhere settle to below where they need to provide new animals.

It looked like that might be happening. The problem though is that towns that overhunt will be rewarded with getting the animals of the towns who conserve. Perhaps the likelihood that an animal will leave could be tied somewhat to how "safe" a location is for the animal population, rather than how many of its kind are in neighboring locations. Perhaps animal could be more likely to reproduce faster depending on how often they are hunted there.

Perhaps we should have mind-altering drugs in Cantr. I'm not sure what they would do, though. Perhaps they could cause hallucinations.
750-5 You smoke a hemp joint.
750-6 You see 2 pink elephants enter Brunoi, coming from Short Walk Road to Brunoi Forest.
750-6 You say something slurred and unintellegible.
750-7 You try to make leather using hemp, but only succeed in smoking more of it.
539-9 You feel dizzy.
Unfortunately, the only useful purpose I can see for drugs is to generate funny quotes for people to post in the funny quotes thread. Too bad.
