hunting weirdness

Postby Marian » Wed Dec 13, 2006 4:52 pm

For a long time now I've noticed there's been some serious lag with hunting, and this timewhen I got frustrated and stopped it halfway, I noticed my char had only hunted about half the animals. So then I went inside, started a project, talked a little...only to have some more of the hunting messages show up a few minutes later.

I guess I can just RP it out, but it's still going to be tough to explain how an elephant snuck into the house. :?

Down the chimney I'd guess -

Animal processing occurs around this time of day and that can cause lags if you try to hunt at that time

Actually there's been similar delay with picking up items as well. I may go to a storage room, pick up a bunch of things, talk to someone and then poof, "you take x". Now it's not so bad when you're allowed to pick things from the ground but imagine if you were a traveller, imagine you had a vehicle and you picked up something from there. Then you go to town and the picking up gives a line only then. People might think that you stole from the ground, and there would be no way of proving that the thing was in fact yours.
