Some recurring themes then...

Some kind of common recognition storage and retrival routine.

There has been discussion in many topics about looking and looking closer at something.

There are some chracters that would rip their eyeballs out if they were told they were blue and the player could not correct. Use numerics instead?

It could be like keys but with two parts.

34875-23098

34875 is what you see without looking too close.

23098 is what you see by looking close {which should be accompanied by a message "a man stares at you"}

Disguises can change the first number but not the second. Or if there were many levels to disguise there could be more keys requiquiring more levels of looking.

This keeps thing abstacts so people can still say they have whatever eyes they want to say but chracters can exchange vital information. There could even be another hidden level of numeric to say whether the information was exchanged correctly between chracters. {So RK can still go in an shoot the wrong guy on accident just the accidents would be more rare}

Now...

Apply the same logic to

coin presses
footprints
fingerprints
signatures {sealed envelop}

And no one will ever find this post hidden under seasons :)

Did I mention I finally got to watch the third matrix movie?

Two suggestions....

It is a way to keep things abstract. No one having to have eyes of a certain color.

It is not, how would you say?, a popular idea.

I mean, it makes perfect sense. There's no reason people in cantr would have attributes similar to real people. Despite being a society simulator, it is very deifferent in many ways form RL. It also leaves a lot open to rp. You could use your imagination to decide what favorable qualities were (like "man, that woman is hot! 5 in the thousands place!" yeah or something....). But despite all that, the idea still seems really unappealing for some reason....

You mean we should actually see some kind of figure code?

I don't like that...it becomes very unpersonal.
I would like a couple of set characteristics (eye color, hair style/color, skin color etc.) and an editable space where the player can write additional information.
(A character can be scarred from combat or something...)

What if we could edit the diffrent atributes. And maybe if would take certain tools and resources to edit them again after the first time. Like make-up could change skin-tone wig could change hair color/style.

Battle wounds should be implemented into the game. It would make things far more interesting. Let those theives suffer without a leg instead of just killing them.

Well, I think everything should be random but hair you can always grow long or cut short. Same with facial hair. One could always get scars from battle or self-inflicted injuries. I guess hair could be dyed but dyes would have to be added in game first which is something I want to see for clothes anyways. So what I am saying is that you are born with what you have which is randomly generated by the computer and maybe someday, when reproduction is added, by the genes your parents have depending on how complicated Jos would like to go.

for characters to have genes then their atributes would have to programmed in, which would mean a system whereby attributes are chosen from drop down menus for spawning characters, in order for the data to be in the system to be used. I don't think Jos can code program calls to players to ask them about RPed attributes for their chars lol :lol:

I don't quite understand what you mean but current characters would be given somewhat random genes while at the same time perhaps there could regional genes like people in Ladvicitavoi have red hair and people in Quillanoi have blonde. And later they can all mix together and dominant and recessive genes could develop. I don't it would be that hard to program, just it would take a lot of programming to do so.

I was refering to thae fact that some players don't want their chars appearance to be set in game at all, which would scupper this idea completely.

I like it however
