I'm not sure if this has been brought up yet or not, as the search function of htese forums lists 28 pages when searching the keyword "Cancelling projects" and 35 pages on the main index (I can't believe all these links have that erm in them and on dialup and not about to browse them all week)
Would it be possible to cancel a project if you were the project initiator?
Example: I start a project to build a mud hut named Public Huosing.
I add 1000 mud to the project.
Immediately, I notice a typo in the name of the building.
But I am unable to cancel the project due to using a bit of mud.
I understand if the project record itself does not store who adds what mateirals to the project, so giving the stuff BACK to the owners may be out of the question, but could you at least have the option to cancel with a prompt like "You will lose all resources dedicated to this project?" It'd be a waste of potentially precious materials, but again, only the initiattor would have such authority.
Or, should I just finish my hut and see if it allows me to rename it later?

Hmm thats a good idea but it seems quite pointless, why not just start a new project with the non-typo if you are going to waste the materials anyway?

mostly, so that a search in the Activity view for all projects does not HUGELY fill up with "spam". I'm not aware that the projects started by people who then simply wander away and logoff will ever be completed, and I can only assume that more populated towns have an impressive list of unfinished projects.
I'm just a neat-freak, and don't like to see pages of unfinished projects that could not possible be finished due to abandonment.
Heck, even dumping the materials on the ground for an unfinished project (perhaps even reduced by % of completion for "wasted materials") would be suitable?

I see your point, but the people who wonder off half way through the project arnt going to be bothered to cancel it....
ok my verdict is.... nice idea, shouldnt be top priority but if theres time to implent it I say it should be
