mass extinction or berserk migration pattern?

mass extinction or berserk migration pattern?

specifically brunoi forest,
there has been a hunting ban in place and upheld for many years now, there was 6 or 7 types of animals with a combined population of over 20 this was 2 weeks ago, today i see that there are 3 species of animals with a combined population of 3, is this "natural" or is there a problem still needing to be fixed?

There was a recent bug with animals. I believe it might still be worked on in fixing the after effects.
