Recognisable strangers
In real life, if you enter a room and see, say, ten male strangers in their twenties, you can still distinguish one from another, and recognise specific ones if you saw them again. But in Cantr, every 'man in his twenties' "looks" exactly the same (unless you check the description, and even then). On the events page, it's all too easy to get them mixed up.
So...
How about some kind of automatic numbering or naming system, whereby strangers are given distinct - but still ambiguous - names.
Instead of:
'You see a man in his twenties talking to a man in his twenties'
it could be
'You see a man in his twenties (#84) talking to a man in his twenties (#63)'.
This could still be changed, obviously, but people could distinguish strangers from each other without having to rename each one.

Differing looks are in the pipeline. Whether they'll show up in the name, I don't know, but I certainly hope for at least an abbreviated version of them.
<You see a blonde man in his twenties attack a tall man in his thirties>
Not excactly what you suggested, UloDeTero, but we'll see if the Big Heads pipe up.
/Hellzon - likes this suggestion.

Yes one of the problems I have is if you have to refer back to your emal logs, people who you identify later are unidentified... at least with a unique identifying number it might make more sense...
I agree people are memorable before you get their names - Hell IRL I cant remember names but I dont forget a face!

I'm against.
1. number of Cantrians (living or dead) reached 100'000. Would you like:
You see a man in his twenties (#128403) talking to a man in his twenties (#127801)'.
2. Would you like:
You see a man in his twenties (#114823) saying: "Hey, people, did you see man number 89371? He's a thief, he stoole two pounds of pumkins!"

Yes but how do you tell one "NS1412M etc." from another "NS1412M etc."
But seriously I agree , there are in game methods to achieve this.
Cantrians are different from humans in that they never forget a name, it's faces they have difficulty with.

I agree with the idea of having long descriptions. Something like "You see a blonde tall muscular white man in his twenties talking to a dark hair medium thin black man in his twenties". The more attributes, the better you'd distinguish everyone. And you'd still mix up some people, which happens in real life too.
And of course these attributes would be given randomly when creating the char. They may look a bit long in your events page but that would change shortly when you name them.
Oh! And these attributes could stay forever (or at least for a few days) in the character description page, even when the charcater is not present. This is to avoid you having to take note of everyone's description, just in case someone asks.

You see a woman in her twenties with long slim legs, blue/grey eyes long brown hair, a beard and strong muscular biceps!
More seriously though, I don't agree with the concept of having attributes just given to a char... that's part of the fun of creating a char and developing their personality... I want to imagine them how I imagine them, how their personality portrays them to me; I don't want my fiery redhead with freckles to have a description of black hair or my char with long, dark chocolate tresses to have blonde hair.
Despite the push for realism (which can only be achieved on a Cantr realism level) in Cantr, it's still a game, something used to escape from this reality. I've seen in other games that putting in too much realism (*cough*repairs*cough*) makes the game less enjoyable and more of a hassle... too much like the hassles of the real world. It becomes a chore, rather than a hobby...
Realism is good to a degree... just have to find that balance...
