For gods sake, rk, the first rule of writing and being an author etcetera is, while taking some advice seriously, not to give a friggin damn about what others say!

Surely you've heard writers on TV and authors talk about this?

They clearly say, 'My friends said it was shit. My editor said it was shit. Many publishers found it shit. Yet I found a publisher who loved it and it was a hit, no matter what everyone else said."

Personally, the chapter one was pure brilliance.

Listen, rklenseth, you don't need to be a sagistic writer among Edgar Alan Poe and all those.

To tell the truth, for those who want to 'escape' reality via a book, they really don't want to be reading deep, extremely-well thought out, planned literature.

No, they want an easy-to-read, easy-to-understand novel/book/writing that has been written as-is and doesn't need afterthought.

Cookiemonster is a complete asshole who has really no right to say anything about your literature.

If you're going to take one or two things away from this thread, remember these. You don't have to plan well to write well, and never listen to what others say if it's going to stop you writing. I repeat, NEVER listen to what someone else says, IF IT WILL STOP YOU WRITING LITERATURE.

One final thing, this is to the idiotic Cookiemonster as much as it is to rklenseth.

If that was the first chapter of a book, I would be DEEPLY interested in finding out more about this place, and what is going to happen in there.

I wouldn't give a f**k if there's no descriptive movement.

He was setting the scene, fool.

Keep up the good work rklenseth, you're a better writer than I and many more people on this forum and while that might not be something to be awefully proud of, (although it might), you should appreciate the fact that you can invent and imagine.

Again, good work. :)

And here I was thinking I was giving him a hand. Ok fair enough, my sarci coments afterwards weren't too helpfull but I thought my coment on his first paragraph was highly constructive and above anything, true.

Cookiemonster is a complete asshole who has really no right to say anything about your literature.

Thank you, i'll take that as a complement coming from you Cli..er...thetaris.

Wow, really clever, Cookie Monster. You're insults just reek of wit. You're on paralel with little children.

Go to hell.

Good work, calling him an asshole. You're just starting shit, man. Real nice.

Christ, man, you don't have to be all prick about it. You could have said that full more politely.

Hey, guys! No need for any of this. I appreciate the support from many people but there is no need to start a flame war especially over something about me.

Instead why don't we think of cuddly little ewoks. You know how cute they are. You just want to squeeze until their stuffing pops out. And then you can alwaya watch them get squished by a chicken walker (or an AT-ST for you star wars geeks out there).

Oh and if you really want to start a flame war you say something along these lines "Firefly/Serenity is much better than Star Wars could ever be!" And well we know this is true but I'm not saying it. Who am I kidding. I'm a Browncoats so yes I am saying it.

I would still like to see a Browncoat vs. the Force flame war.

Yes but you have to remember, at the time there was no such thing as 3D animation, (at least not as much as today) and Ewoks were simply ugly little men running round in furry suits. :D

Dude rkl, your style reminded me a bit of an early Robert Jordan. He has "shopping lists" every other friggin paragraph. And yet, I consider him the greatest Fantasy author in the world. If you spruced that one paragraph up a little it would be very nice. Also can I read it? All I've read is that one paragraph and I think it is kick ass.

Wal-Mart sells the 2 original ewok movies on DVD. I remember watching them as a kid. Usually the storyline involved a human space ship crash landing on Endor and the ewoks having the save them from being captured by these evil races of beings that also inhabit the planet but seem to mysteriously be absent in the original Star Wars movies.

It's a big forest moon, RKL. You don't see penguins in documentaries about the sahara. Or even the North Pole.

I'd put penguins in a documentary about the Sahara. That might just be me but I would if I could.
