Weird speaking guy in Longinazy

Postby Nixit » Tue Dec 20, 2005 12:40 am

There's a guy, Ture, we think his name is who obviously does not speak english, and is in Longinazy. This is a breach. Who do I send the details to again?

He's emoting in english. Maybe just let some time pass and see what happens? At least the mystery of the guy has arisen a lot of interest with the locals. :)

Not necessarily a breach. The PD can just check what language the character is.

I don't think it is a breach. The BS OOC convo discussing it's similarity to German was. I don't think it is a real language. I found it to be very cool. Please don't muck it up.

He can't just spawn in an English area and start speaking German. Or whatever language. *shrugs*

It wouldn't be the first time somone spawns and only gibberish comes out of them as part of some background plot. As he emotes in english my guess is he'll be talking the language in notime.

And he speaks Swedish not German.

As far as I can tell, I agree with Wichita; it all depends on whether the character has been speaking Swedish (or German, or whatever) or a made-up gibberish.

An English character should not be allowed to speak an RL language he has never been exposed to in Cantr. Not only is it disruptive (I mean, look at how much avoidable commotion it's caused!), but if that character ever comes in contact with characters played in that language, the rules are not going to be much fun to figure out.
I have no problem with quirky or mentally ill characters, but if you must have them speak gibberish or a non-English language, it should be a gibberish specific to that character.

Since its Swedish in an english language and NOT gibberish or new langugage, this is a CRB, so time to wait for some people to handle it.
