Missing resources in the swedish area.

Postby Nggh » Thu Nov 17, 2005 9:38 am

I have played for a while now and haven't found clay at all on the swedish islands. I've consulted both players and all maps I could find, but still nothing.

Is it missing or am I just not looking hard enough? I thought clay would be as common as sand or stone, just like in reality...

And yes, some other things are missing, like tomtatoes. :?

Not all things are on islands.

Try looking for another island with these items :P

As peanut says , try else where

IRL ,Tomatoes (and potatotes & Maize/Corn) were not available anywhere except the Americas in pre-columbian times ... OK may be clay was but ... :)

But for example, clay is needed to make charcoal - which is supposed to be the "cheap alternative" to coal.

I understand that some things like tomatoes and potatoes are more "exotic", but not having clay at all on three big islands are just stupid...

Yeah, I agree on the clay thing. The island my character was spawned on has hematite but no coal or limestone or clay. Now he finally build a boat, even though he's been afraid of seamonsters all his life, and found the second island with surprising ease, but it doesn't look like they got coal either, or clay. There is limestone though... And I find it hard to believe that all the iron I've seen would be from the old days when you could dig it straight from the ground.

While it might seem wrong to provide a resource and not provide a means of using it, I'm sure things like that happen in the real world before global commerce. Native Americans in the Dakotas lived next to gold for thousands of years and thought it worthless (because it was to them, they had no use for it).
