Yet another problem with Siom Steel Manufacturing Plant:
First, I'd like tthank the Prog. Dept for restoring our new premises, after it vanished, but we're srtill not ready to move in, because we're adding a stone hall onto it, which will need to be stocked with machines.
In the meantime , we've had a resurgence of the overcrowding problems at the old plant, largely due to the building capacity suddenly shrinking. It'sa wooden building and it used to hold 13 charries (plus machines, plus whatever they were carrying). It now holds only ten at most.
I'll send more details to bugs @cantr.net (is that right?) But thought I'd mention it here in case anyone else has had a similar experience.
I'd also like to ask, do materials added to projects count towards the weight? And if so, at what point in proceedings is weight subtracted to reduce the total to the weight of the finished product (where lighter, an in iron) ?I've often wonderered. We've got two large metal projects on the go. But they wouldn't account for the problem, not by themselves (they might be a contributing factor)

Hey, thanks forthe prompt response , Jos
. I'm glad it isn't some complex, mysterious bug whickh is going to affect future building projects. On the other hand, it would be nice if they could re-adjust it back to what it used to be. I mean, there's no pressing need to squeeze people out of buildings right now, is there? (In fact, movement in the opposite direction is desirable, isn't it?)

Every building and vehicle type has always had a rating for the maximum
number of people it can hold as well as the maximum weight of items (including the characters).
The fixed bug in question was that the maximum number of people allowed in a location was only being checked when a character was dragged to that location , not when they were entering under their own volition , so the only check under those circumstances was whether the maximum weight capacity was exceeded.
There was also a mysterious weightless newspawn bug which was also fixed
The Resource Department maximum number of people in a wooden cottage is 10 people and this is now being correctly checked. The actual limits have not been changed they are just now being enforced
EDIT: Resources added to a project don't count towards the weight limit
nor do objects, resources or people in internal rooms / extensions off the one being entered or resources in storage containers.
I will add building capacities (max people and weight) to the wiki in the next few days

Ah.. Actually the code for calculating the weight of objects in a room ignores the contents of containers - but looking further the code for filling
containers increases the weight of the container which is used in the Maximum Weight calculation
So building containers inside vehicles will not increase carrying capacity, in fact it will decrease it as the containers themselves have an intrinisc weight
