Vehicle Wiki
Thanks for the input on the wiki, but there are alot of holes...like how fast a char walks to compare to vehicle speeds. Is a galleon 50 times faster than a bike, its 4250 units versus 13.....how much faster do vehicles go on improved roads....etc etc. Any help?

I clearly stated (Here: http://www.cantr.net/mwiki/index.php/Vehicle_Speed) an explaination for speeds.
You can find this page linked on EVERY vehicle page, titled "Vehicle Speed" where the units are...
To clarify:
I'm stating that you can't compare a boat to something on land. Therefore, you can NOT compare a Galleon and a Bike, as they use different speeds due to their different structure (Land vehicles follow a defined path. Water based vehicles have a large spanable area, and you can't determine a "percentage" of a travelling project, so you're unable to tell how far you're going each turn, so you can't compare it with anything.)

Boats on the water are calculated much differently than those on land. A boat moving 1000 Units does not mean the boat is going 1000 times that of a Cantarian on their legs. There is no basic principle, such as a Cantarian walking down a path, to define how fast or slow a boat is in comparison.

Are you really sure about that? I have to look in the code, but it sounds odd to me
That is, I don't know what 'units' are here

If you consider that there need be no connection between map (and thus sailing) distance between towns and how long it takes to walk between them... Seems to me that you can't really compare them.
Or am I wrong about a road having a 'length' characteristic not necessarily equal to it's map length?

No, I'm not sure about it
As for boats, from my point of view, a walking Cantarian may at times walk the same distance, or further, on the map, whereas a boat takes longer to go that same pixelated distance. A good example is a raft. Very very slow, and it moves just like that across the water. A few pixels an hour. Yet, a character seems to walk faster on land, than a few pixels every hour. So, I can't really find any "relation" between the two.
