The option to spawn on 'new' islands
What with the 9,000 odd locations that there are - and the fact that new resources are hidden on new islands - and that the main islands and K-Isle are begining to get a bit stale maybe?
How about the option to spawn on a select few locations on the new islands -
it could create interesting scenarios like boats from the other islands finding 'savage natives' - furthermore, it would start whole new histories - and present a new challenge. I'd like the feeling of starting from scratch again - with so few total massacares around - places are starting to get a little too comfortable in places - and I don't like the feeling that if I start another newspawn, I'll feel like 'I've seen it all before'...

Yes! Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, and so on. (In other words, I agree.
)
I actually considered suggesting something like this awhile back, where players whose accounts had reached a certain age might have the option of picking a continent to spawn on. I know the main problem would be the chance of CR abuse, but I figure that after playing long enough the majority of wannabe cheaters will have either moved on, straightened up, or been given the boot.
And like Farmer I'm one of those who loves the idea of starting all over from scratch - unfortunately I came to Cantr much too late to get that authentic "frontier" experience with any of my characters.
Also, I think it'd be fascinating to see how islands would develop differently when the games mechanics have changed so much from what they were originally.
In short, bring on the savagery! I'll take bone knives and dangerous animals and communities that actually have to struggle for survival over boring, safe KDS any day.

Yeah, but explorers usually have had to contend with "the natives", not so?
I agree. All the new lands that have been added recently provide the opportunity to develop some completely fresh and new cultures. Simply discovering new untouched territory will likely mean that the "old country" will just get transported over....or worse...become the United States of New Cantr!

In general I say no to this but...
...it would be awsome if there was one island, about the size of the K-Island, where players who have had accounts for a certain period of time and are in good standing with the PD could request that a new char be spawned. Not all in the same town either. They'd have to find each other. And they could even speak different languages. And nobody could have more than one char there maybe ever or maybe you'd have to wait like a rl year if your char died. I would love that so much!!!!!! I wouldn't even care if my char never had any iron. Just the chance to be someplace really basic with good players would be so rejuvenating.
I think the long-time players need some kind of a reward and this isn't all that unfair or anything.

I hope you're being sarcastic.
I don't want an IC realm for the OOC clique.

I'm part of no clique. I'd vote yes on this! That would be great. Last undiscovered land I found had nothing on it! I landed and found there were no resources, no roads, nothing! It sucked! I'd like to have a chance to be a guy on an unexplored island!

Can I come with you, Kinvoya? We can build a little cottage and make bone spears all day...

I disagree.
I do think, however, that with the older islands being overpopulated as it is, that some new islands should be populated with spawns. However, I still think the majority, if not all unexplored and unpopulated islands should still be explored using the good ol' method of a boat on the high seas.
