giving a description?
I have an idea that could save quite a bit of trouble, especially with introductions. Instead of the tedious finger pointing and whispering to get someone else to know someone, you could just be able to "describe" someone you "know" (have renamed in their profile), and then that person would have that person automatically marked down as whatever you knew them as. I don't know if it's that good or not, but I think it would help people out with introductions, especially with new players getting to know power players such as the mayor, sheriff ect. ect.

I wish I could envision how you see this being implemented or working mechanically. I like the idea. It seems to me to be bascially an extension of the visible physical character description arguments. In the long run, as far as pointing out the sheriff, thief, etc it's not going to get much shorter than just pointing at them and then saying, "That is so-and-so."

I think the mechanical way this could work is as follows:
You have a list of characters who you know (you'd need this implemented first, as we don't currently have it in any accessible form). Next to each name there are several buttons, including a "describe" button. When you press the "describe button" it takes you to another screen with a drop down box, and asks who you want to describe that person to, in the same way as it currently asks who you want to hand an object to. You select, click ok, and it inputs your name for the person in their list, and puts up a message along the lines of "You describe X to Y."
I can see it being useful for describing people who don't happen to be around, but I don't think it's really necessary, and almost certainly not worth the programming time. It could also be abused by people introducing you to lots of people you already know, and giving them all the wrong names. I prefer the name-tag suggestion that someone came up with in another thread a while ago.
