My resources! Jesus, the thing takes more steel then a freaking sabre! Can't we tone the thing down a bit?!?!

Yeah, people who spent that price on it are getting jipped.

Surly raised a good point about not finding OOC resolutions to IC problems.

Well I would try and invent a way to make a most cost efficent File in the game if I had the option.

Its the same way in real life. People go on spending cash and whatnot to make something, only to find out a couple of years later there is a cheaper and easier way to make em.

Example: Ford cranked out a couple of cars a year. He made the concept of an assymbly line, and wala. He busted em out even faster and it cost him less. (He saved money after all). That may not be the best example, but its the first that came to mind.

Here's an idea: Another file.

Think about it. Is it really that plausible to sharpen your battle axe with the same file you use to cut keys?

How about a smaller "Key file" that uses an appropritate amount of steel, but won't work on projects like making sabers and such? Would that be to hard to program?
Reality was never my strong point.

I like that idea.

But only if you can still copy keys with the regular file.
And then I don't know how hard it would be to program it so that the copy key button checks to make sure you have a file OR a keyfile.

Isn't the sharpening block already the "large file" needed for sabres and other steel weapons?

Did someone say the file takes more steel than a sabre?

why exactly would a file be larger than a sabre? That doesn't sound like solving an IC problem OOC, that sounds like fixing something which is currently out of scale with the rest of the game.
