Magnetite drill

Do all the drills require the resource to be there or are some of them like a well which makes water available? More specifically I'd like to know about: http://wiki.cantr.net/index.php/Magnetite_drill

I do believe the resource needs to be there naturally, else we'd have hematite and magnesium and magnetite all kinds of other drills in the middle of swamps and deserts and beaches.

You can only drill magnetite if magnetite is present.

Thanks! Just making sure. I've never seen magnetite or Taconite so I wasn't 100% sure.

I've seen magnetite and taconite on maps, but I've never been to places with them myself.
