Phosphorus...

Postby BigMac » Wed Jun 30, 2010 4:08 pm

Bone ash was the major source of phosphorus from 1769 until the 1840s, almost a century. Now I was wondering why we have very low locations with this resource. Could we not use a coal oven to make bone ash and then process it in to phosphorus?

It would certainly make bronze more wide spread. I never actually seen any yet.

This has been discussed extensively in RD and our conclusion was that it's probably easier to simply remove phosphorus from the list of requirements of bronze, which was pretty artificial in the first place.

Phosphates could be used as a fertilizer though.

And it would be a good way to get rid of the millions of grams of bones that are about.

I was just wondering.. I haven't been a member for long so I wouldn't know any of the topics that have been discussed. But I see bronze tools every where but on a char... I just put this out there to make something to talk about I guess.. Thats what I was mostly thinking too Crash
