Simple Hide Pants, should be updated.

I want to make a suggestion about Simple Hide Pants.

I do not think they should require a "bone fur scraper" tool in order to be made. That tool is for things made of fur, not hide.


I was not around when the simple hide clothings were created and decided on, but I can see patterns. One pattern I see shows that all simple hide clothing requires (at most) a knife and needle.


Except for the pants.

So. I suggest that the Bone Fur Scraper not be a tool required for the making of Simple Hide Pants.

Scraps fur FROM the hide, is what the tool means. Which is why its called a fur scraper. Think you want pants less furry, right? O.o

Maybe there could be a different item?

I'm pretty sure it's for scraping off the meaty part from animal pelts, whether they are furry or not. If you put "fur scraper" in Google picture search, you get barely anything since such things don't actually exist. It's a hide scraper. This was already brought up in another topic (RD maybe?) and as I said there, it would make more sense to require a fur scraper (preferably renamed hide scraper) in all rawhide projects, not just the pants. Also loincloths. You don't want bits of spoiling meat near your groin.

I think Seko is right. I think we should change the name of the fur scraper to hide scraper (or a more neutral name) and add it to the remaining skin projects (whether classified as fur or as hide).

It might also make sense to add the scraper to the leather-making project (and allow fur to be used, too).

It would be nice if leather could be made of fur (although it's a bit wasteful) since at least on one of the old Swedish island, there were no animals that would give hide, or so I recall. Only gorillas, koalas and such. Fur to leather would just be a lossier method since more unnecessary stuff needs to be scraped off and/or dissolved.
